WishSense

Song wishes from the dance floor. Guests scan a QR code and wish a song from their phone; you see every wish live with BPM, key (Camelot), genre and year, merge duplicates into votes, tick what you played and bin what you won't.

Coming soon. WishSense is in testing.

WishSense turns "Can you play…?" at the booth into a list you can read at a glance. Guests scan the QR code on a poster or table card, search a song and send it — no app, no account. On your screen each wish arrives with the facts you mix by: BPM, key in Camelot and musical notation, genre and year, plus when it came in and who sent it.

How a night works

  1. Create an event and give it the name your guests see. A 4-digit PIN is optional: it keeps out people who only saw a photo of the poster.
  2. Print the QR: an A4 poster or four table cards, in German, English or both — with your own logo or photo on top if you like (it stays on your device). Or download the bare QR code as PNG or SVG and build your own graphics around it.
  3. Wishes arrive live. Sort by time, votes, BPM, key, genre or year — or drag them into your own order. 📌 marks a song as coming up, ✓ played, 🗑 moves it to the Bin (you can bring it back).

Guests are told on the page and on the poster: wishes are suggestions — the DJ decides what gets played.

Fair limits

Each guest starts with 3 wishes and earns one back every 5 minutes, with at most 10 in a night. A song that is already on the list becomes a free +1 instead of a duplicate. You can change every number in the event settings, close wishes with one tap, and block a guest whose wishes you don't want.

Where the song facts come from

The search is Apple's iTunes catalogue (genre, release year, cover). The original release year comes from MusicBrainz; BPM and key from GetSongBPM. When no source knows a value, WishSense shows — rather than guessing.

When no database knows a song's tempo, your DJ screen measures it from the 30-second preview (with the tempo detector from TempoSense) and shows it as ~102. A reading the detector is not sure about is shown greyed out as 102? — check it before you mix on it. In our test with 16 well-known party songs, 15 were within 3 % of the published tempo.

Tip jar

Paste your own PayPal.me, Stripe, SumUp or Ko-fi link and guests see a tip button. The money goes straight to you — WishSense never handles it.

Privacy

Guests have no account. Their phone keeps a random cookie; the nickname they choose and their wishes are deleted 30 days after the event, and the network address is only kept as a scrambled value for 48 hours to stop abuse.
