Troubleshooting
No sound, audio paused, stems that take a while, sync notices and unsupported browsers — and what to do about each.
| Symptom | Likely cause & fix |

| "Audio paused — tap to resume" banner | The browser suspended audio (usually after you switched tabs or apps). Tap the banner; playback resumes. |
| No sound on iPhone or iPad, no banner | The ringer switch is on silent. The "No sound? Check your ringer switch" hint appears for this case; flip the switch and play again. |
| "Audio unavailable" screen | The browser does not support the Web Audio API. Use a recent Chrome or Firefox. |
| A question sits on a loading state | Stems are being fetched for the first time. They are cached after first play, so the same material loads instantly next time. |
| Sudden volume jump when returning to the tab | Fixed in v2.8. Reload the page if you still see it. |
| Interface sounds annoying | Tap 🔊 Sound in the top bar to mute them (🔇 Muted). The 🔊 Cues pill inside a module mutes the answer-feedback sounds separately. |
| "Sync paused — please sign in again" | Your session expired. Sign in again; progress made in the meantime is kept locally and pushed when sync resumes. |
| "Cloud sync is full — progress is saved on this device only" | Your account storage is full. Free some space on your account page; local progress is unaffected. See Account sync. |
| Progress differs between two devices | Sync is last-write-wins per key. Give the second device a moment online after the first one finishes a session, then reload. |
| A module's difficulty picker is greyed out | Intermediate needs 50 correct answers, Advanced 150. The lock shows how many more you need. |
| Blind — Advanced only on the mode toggle | Blind mode is gated to Advanced difficulty. |
| Ring-Out shows "Best experienced on desktop or tablet" | The 31-band EQ needs a wider screen than a phone. Open it on a desktop or tablet. |
| The Daily Shift card says it is done, but I did not finish | Direct links to the shift bounce back to the dashboard once today's shift is complete. It resets tomorrow. |
Headphones and the psychoacoustics wing
The Binaural, Haas, Precedence and Phantom modules only work with a separate feed to each ear. On speakers the two channels mix in the air before they reach you and the question becomes unanswerable — that is the physics, not a bug. Put headphones on.
After a platform update
The tool caches its own files. If something looks stale after an update, fully close and reopen the tab. Your progress is stored locally and, when signed in, on your account.
