Import a scan
Bring the venue's real RF into the plan — supported CSV formats, separators and units, the noise threshold, the trace limit and scans referenced by saved plans.
A band plan tells you what is allowed. A scan tells you what is actually there tonight — the local TV transmitters, the LED wall, the venue's own wireless, the walkie channel. FreqSense does not know which TV transmitters are on air near you; the scan is how that gets into the plan. It overlays the scan on the spectrum and blocks anything above the noise threshold — for the free windows, the packer, the backups and the plan check.
Import a scan file
- Press ↑ Import scan CSV (RF Explorer / WWB / generic) in the spectrum section, or drop the file onto it — one file at a time.
- The status reads Parsing scan… and then the trace appears in the list of loaded traces with its point count.
- Adjust Noise threshold — how many dB above the median a point has to rise before it counts as occupied. Each point above it blocks the width it measures. Flagged ranges appear as a badge on the windows panel (n ranges flagged from scan).
- Rename a trace, Hide or Show it, or remove it. Up to 3 traces can be loaded; a fourth asks whether to replace the oldest.
A row that already sits where the scan now shows a signal gets a ⚠ In blocked spectrum in the table.
Supported formats
| Format | Notes |
|---|---|
| RF Explorer | Its CSV export. Units are detected from the magnitudes: MHz, kHz or Hz; positive amplitudes above 30 are read as dBµV. |
| Shure WWB6 / WWB7 | The scan CSV. Header-driven, with explicit unit suffixes; dBµV is converted to dBm. |
| Rohde & Schwarz FSH | The Center / Level header vocabulary is recognised. |
| Generic two-column | Frequency and level, e.g. Frequency, Amplitude in MHz and dBm — use this when in doubt. |
Files with ; as the separator and a decimal comma (470,025;-92,5), as
German and other European exports write them, are read as they are. Comment
lines starting with # or ; are skipped. Open Supported scan formats
under the spectrum for example headers and a Load demo → file per format.
RF Explorer's native binary file is not read — save or export a CSV from it instead.
When a plan references a scan
Saving a plan stores which scan it was built against, not the scan itself. Loading that plan later shows Plan references scan "…" … Re-load it to restore noise-floor blocking. Import the same file again and the windows go back to what you saw.
For a measured picture at the venue there is KlarFunk, the paid desktop scanner — see /klarfunk.
