Run a Daily Shift and climb the ranks

What the eight-question shift is, how the seven ranks are earned, and what each of the ten badges asks of you.

  3. The ten badges

The Daily Shift is one curated session a day: eight questions from the Mix Engineering modules, weighted towards the modules where your mastery is lowest. It drives the rank ladder — every rank above the first needs a number of completed shifts.

Running a shift

  1. On the dashboard, tap Start Shift → on the Daily Shift card.
  2. Read the Shift Briefing and begin. There is no blind mode or A/B in a shift.
  3. Answer the eight questions; each comes from a different module.
  4. The Shift Report shows your score out of 8, a mentor verdict, your strongest and weakest module, and a breakdown.
  5. Clock Out returns to the dashboard. Keep drilling opens your weakest module.

One shift per day. Consecutive days build your shift streak; a missed day resets it to one. Shift questions do not move individual module mastery bars — they count towards the shift total and your personal bests.

The seven ranks

Ranks use the average mastery of the Beginner modules (EQ, Delay, Pan, Level, Compression), the Intermediate modules (Reverb, Distortion, Filter, Phase, Width, Mix Balance, Pitch, Tempo), and your shift count.

Rank Needs
Stage Hand
Monitor Tech 5 shifts
FOH Trainee Beginner mastery ≥ 20 %
Junior Engineer Beginner ≥ 40 % and 15 shifts
Senior Engineer Beginner ≥ 60 %, Intermediate ≥ 30 %, 30 shifts
Tour Engineer Beginner ≥ 80 %, Intermediate ≥ 60 %, 50 shifts
Legend Every module ≥ 80 % and 100 shifts

The rank panel names the nearest unmet gate, for example "3 more shifts to Junior Engineer". A rank-up shows an overlay once; tap anywhere to continue.

The ten badges

Badge Goal
Golden Ear 5 perfect answers in any one module
On Fire A 7-day shift streak
Frequency Hunter 80 % mastery in EQ
Time Lord 80 % mastery in Delay
Compressor King 80 % mastery in Compression
Room Reader 80 % mastery in Reverb
Zero Tolerance 3 perfect (8/8) shifts in a row
Stereo Freak 70 % mastery in both Pan and Width
Perfect Pitch 90 % mastery in Pitch
All-Rounder 50 % mastery in every Beginner module

Hover or focus a badge on the dashboard to see its goal and your progress. Earned badges are never removed.

Mastery is the average of your last 20 answers in a module, so an 80 % badge asks for sustained form, not one lucky session.
