Troubleshooting
Templates that land oddly, a PDF missing things, share links that fail, a hidden palette, and what changed after the 2026 audit.
| Symptom | Likely cause & fix |
|---|---|
| The PDF is missing elements | They are on a hidden layer, or include in tech rider is unticked on them. Turn the layer on (View → Layer) or tick the box, then export again. |
| The input list is missing a channel | Same cause as above — hidden layers are left out of the list and the PDF. |
| A template asked to replace my plot | Templates replace the whole canvas. Cancel, save a slot (File → Save slots manager) or export a .stageplot.json, then apply it. |
| "You're offline — try again when connected" when sharing | Share links are minted on the server. Reconnect and share again; the plot itself is safe locally. |
| "Share limit reached" | An account holds 50 share links. Delete older ones from your account page, then share again. |
| "Shared without the logo — it was too large" | The band logo did not fit the share payload. The plot shared fine; use a smaller logo file if the venue needs it. |
| The venue says the link shows an old version | Links are snapshots. Share again and send the new link. |
Old #state= link |
Still opens; editable ones load as a working copy. The app no longer creates them. |
| Import asks before loading a file | The file was written by a newer version of the tool. The import expects a .stageplot.json file. |
| Undo stops after a while | History keeps the last 20 steps. Use save slots as checkpoints before big changes. |
| A rigged truss shows a lower total than expected | Since v2.13 hidden layers still count in load maths. If the numbers still look wrong, check each load's weight field — items with no weight set add nothing. |
| I can add elements on my phone but not move them | Phones are below the supported device tier. Use a tablet or laptop. |
| The wrong language | The tool follows the platform picker for EN/DE/FR/ES/NL/JA and falls back to English for other languages. See Languages. |
| Something looks stale after an update | Fully close and reopen the tab so the new cached files load. Your plot is autosaved locally and on your account. |
Where the work lives
The plot autosaves to the browser every minute and restores on the next open. When you are signed in, plots, slots, venue profiles, group templates and custom elements also sync to your account with last-write-wins across devices. If two devices edit the same plot offline, the newest change wins when they reconnect. See Account sync.
Plots built before the metric canvas
Plots saved before the 2026-07 rebuild used pixel coordinates on a fixed canvas. They are converted on load, using the stage width saved with the plot, so elements keep their positions relative to the stage. If an old plot looks compressed or stretched, check Band → Stage settings first.
Reporting a problem
Note the browser, the OS and what you clicked, and export a
.stageplot.json of the plot if you can share it — it reproduces the state
exactly.
Thanks for the feedback.
