SetlistForge

A setlist builder that times the set, shows the key flow, runs the gig in a full-screen Show Mode and prepares the performed-songs report for your rights society.

SetlistForge turns "a list of songs in a notes app" into a production document. Keep a song library with durations, keys, BPM, writers and notes, drag songs into named setlists, and watch the runtime, per-set subtotals, breaks and wall clock add up as you go. On the night, Show Mode takes the whole screen for the stage. Afterwards, the Royalties tab prepares the performed-songs report for GEMA, SUISA, AKM, ASCAP, BMI, PRS for Music, SABAM, SOCAN or Buma/Stemra.

Who it is for

  • Gigging bands that play the same songs in a new order every week.
  • Musical directors who want set structure and key flow visible before the night.
  • Songwriters who are members of a society — the report is how the songs they wrote get paid when they play them. Only the writers of the songs are paid; for a covers set the report credits the original writers.

What makes it different

  • Timing that adds up live — total runtime, subtotals per set, planned break minutes, a wall clock and a slot target that shows how far over or under you are.
  • Camelot key badges and the Energy Arc — the harmonic and dynamic shape of the set, before the room hears it.
  • Show Mode — full screen, big type, editing locked, screen kept awake; drive it by touch, keyboard or a Bluetooth foot pedal.
  • A read-only link for the band — bandmates open the setlist in their browser, no licence of their own needed.
  • Royalty reports for nine societies — a formatted PDF with each society's fields (composer, lyricist and ISWC on every row, medleys split into their parts), a copy-ready list for the portal societies, or Buma/Stemra's own Excel sheet filled in; a preparation aid you check, then file yourself.
  • Browser-based, bought once — laptop, tablet or phone; no App Store.

Free plan

Every verified Squaresmile account can use SetlistForge on the free plan — the real app, no time limit:

  • up to 30 songs in the library and 2 saved setlists;
  • one society report in total (a report PDF, Buma/Stemra's sheet or a copy-ready portal list — making the same report again is fine). It is counted in this browser;
  • timing, set subtotals, breaks, the timeline, Camelot badges, the Energy Arc and transition warnings, all without limits;
  • the stage PDF and print, with a small "Made with SetlistForge · squaresmile.de" line at the bottom;
  • your library stays on this device — there is no account backup on the free plan. Save a backup file any time with Library → Export library.

The full version (€29 once) removes the limits and adds Show Mode with pedal page turns, the read-only band link, PDFs without the line and with your logo and your own columns, reports for every show, and the account backup that merges your devices. When you buy, the library you built on the free plan is uploaded to your account the next time you open SetlistForge — nothing is lost. Locked controls show a small padlock; clicking one says what it needs.
