Troubleshooting

Files that will not load, a tempo that is not found, a click that is off the beat, exports that fail — and what to do.

ClickSmith öffnen

Diese Seite gibt es bisher nur auf Englisch.

Symptom Likely cause & fix
Unsupported file type Only MP3, WAV, OGG and M4A load. Convert the file, or check its extension.
File too large … Maximum 200 MB Export a smaller version — a 320 kbps MP3 of any song is well under the cap.
Decoding failed The file is corrupt or uses a codec the browser cannot read. Re-export it as WAV or MP3.
Tempo not detected Quiet intros, rubato or very sparse material. Set the BPM by hand, or use Tap Tempo (four taps for an average).
Detected tempo is double or half Use the / + nudges or type the value; or change the Subdivision if it is the feel that is wrong.
Click lands between the beats Adjust the Click offset in ±1 ms and ±10 ms steps until beat 1 sits on the downbeat. Zoom in on the waveform to see it.
Click drifts later in the song The song changes tempo. Add tempo changes — see Handle a song that changes tempo.
Accent pattern shows the wrong number of beats Set the Time signature first; the pattern follows it.
6/8 or 7/8 pattern is cut off on a phone The accent editor wraps on narrow screens; if not, reload once.
Play starts from the beginning after a pause You pressed Stop or clicked the waveform; both reset to the start. Pause holds the spot and Play resumes.
Loop resumes a beat off Fixed in v2.13 — reload to get the current version.
Could not decode that sample / that audio The click sample or marker file is not readable. Use WAV or MP3.
Export failed / Stem export failed The render did not finish — rendering is heavy on long files. Close other tabs, reload, load the song again and export first.
Both exports have the same name They do not: the split is name_click_split.wav, the stems are name_song.wav and name_click.wav. Check the downloads folder.
Labels in the wrong language The platform language picker in the top bar sets ClickSmith's language too — see Languages.
Settings differ on another device Click settings sync with your account when you are signed in; the song itself is never stored, so load it again. See Account sync.
