RoomSense · Acoustic Reference Suite

Tune the room,
not just the system.

Five engineer-grade acoustic instruments on one dark-mode tablet — modal analysis, SPL, loudness, system alignment and psychoacoustics. Every number is computed on-device, calibrated for the venue, the broadcast truck, the house iPad.

The Suite

Five instruments. One calibrated desk.

Every number a live engineer reaches for during load-in and soundcheck — measured, cross-checked, and printable — without leaving the tablet.

Modal Analysis

Room Modes

See the room before you hear it. Axial, tangential and oblique modes on a log spectrum, with a golden-ratio verdict and RT60 estimate.

  • Mode spectrum & density
  • Bolt / EBU proportion check
  • RT60 with material library
  • Treatment suggestions

Alignment

EQ & Delay

Align the system to the space. Air absorption, delay times, sub polarity, crossover points and a full gain-chain reference.

  • Delay alignment ms / m
  • Air absorption by distance
  • Sub polarity check
  • Crossover & gain chain

Sound Pressure

SPL & Safety

Stay inside the limit. Inverse-square fall-off, back-row level, source summation and a hearing-damage exposure timer.

  • Inverse-square law
  • Back-row level estimate
  • Source combiner
  • Hearing-damage timer

Loudness

LUFS Metering

Broadcast-ready loudness. Integrated LUFS, per-platform targets and live metering for the playback and stream feed.

  • Integrated LUFS
  • Platform target table
  • Live meter (M/S/I)
  • True-peak headroom

Perception

Psychoacoustics

Mix for human ears. ISO 226 equal-loudness contours and simultaneous masking, so EQ moves match how the room is actually heard.

  • Equal-loudness contours
  • Simultaneous masking
  • Frequency-weighted EQ hints

Venue Profiles

Save the room. Store dimensions, materials and targets per venue, switch instantly, and print an A5 sheet for the gig folder.

  • Per-venue presets
  • Import / export JSON
  • Print A5 reports
  • Ten interface languages

Instrument ① · Hero

Read a room's low end before the PA arrives.

Enter length, width and height and RoomSense solves every axial, tangential and oblique mode up to 500 Hz — flags problematic pile-ups, scores the proportions against the Bolt and EBU regions, and estimates RT60 from a surface-material library.

01

Modal spectrum

Colour-coded spikes on a log axis with the Schroeder frequency and a ⅓-octave density strip.

02

Proportion verdict

A single Good / Problematic badge with the live L : W : H ratio against the favourable region.

03

RT60 & treatment

Per-surface absorption, occupied-room correction, and amber-accented treatment suggestions.

Reference numbers you can defend.

No consumer guesswork. Every readout maps to a named model — and the math runs on-device in the browser, so your venue data never leaves the tablet.

Questions

Everything you'd ask at load-in.

Where does my data go?+
Nowhere. Every calculation runs on-device in your browser and venue profiles are saved locally on the tablet — nothing is uploaded, there's no analytics backend. Once the page has loaded, the browser caches it, so it typically keeps working without a connection.
What acoustic tools are included?+
Five instruments: Room Modes (modal analysis & RT60), EQ & Delay alignment, SPL & hearing-safety, LUFS loudness metering, and Psychoacoustics — plus venue profiles, import/export, and print-ready A5 reports.
Which standards and models does it reference?+
Sabine reverberation, the Bolt and EBU R68 room-ratio regions, the Schroeder frequency, ISO 226 equal-loudness contours, and common broadcast LUFS targets. Each readout names its model so you can defend the number.
Can I share it across the crew?+
Venue profiles export to a small JSON file you can drop onto any other device running RoomSense — dimensions, materials and targets travel with it. The interface ships in ten languages for international touring.
Is RoomSense free?+
Yes — the full reference suite is free to use. It opens with a free Squaresmile account; just launch it and start solving the room.

Solve the room tonight.

Open RoomSense on the venue tablet and have your modal map, RT60 and delay times before the first line check.
